Anyone picking it up?
The reg P.E. is $80 at Best buy, and $99 for this combo sounds like a good deal.

Thats a hot deal, i would have jumped on it had I known. But still $99 at Best buy isnt bad...unless Walmart is cheaper.Originally posted by Projek01
it was 80 at costco last month though. frick, i am stuck with my HD-DVD copy.
Does this still have the commentary by Sigourney Weaver? I'd buy the European version just because of the British guy narrating it, its much better.
I bought mine last Christmas at futureshop for $89.99 plus tax. Not a bad deal considering you're getting 6 blu-ray disc.Originally posted by copynpaste

Any underwater footage?
Is this planet earth "the changing earth"?
no animals or anything, just geographical footage and simulations on how the earth was created and such.
Or is this more animal stuff?
If it's Planet Earth,
They have a "shallow seas' and "Deep Ocean" I believe plenty of underwater stuff
yeah ive just recently seen all 11 instalments of the planet earth series, narrated by the british bloke. Tons of underwater stuff if your interested.

"If in doubt, flat out" C. McRae R.I.P.
The "british bloke" is David Attenbrough, a legend when it comes to narration. And yes, there are episodes dealing with water, like Shallow Seas and the Ocean Deep. Not sure what that other set is though.

What is it about these shows that makes them worth a hundred bucks??
it's the exact same as the planet earth that was released years ago, the only addition is the earth biography which you have been able to purchase on it's own for over a year as well.
If you watch Planet Earth, you'll understand the time, money, and effort that would have been needed to create such a widespread documentary. It's really quite an amazing series.Originally posted by Inzane

get an lcd for anywhere, with the 120/240hz it's superior in all ways.
Is earth the biography any good?
I got planet earth and love it. I'm sure you could buy the two separate.
I got this for Christmas! It's absolutely worth it if you enjoy this sort of thing, and it's a great showcase for Blu-ray as well. I haven't had the chance to watch it all yet but it is seriously good stuff.Originally posted by copynpaste

Buy it from Amazon.co.uk for $48 CAD shipped to your door in less than 1 week. I picked it up when it was even cheaper @ ~$38 CAD.
Refer to this thread @ RFD.
Notes:
1)It will play on our North American Region 1 Blu-Ray players.
2) The box says 1080i, but it is actually 1080p.
