    Love the old Z's Friggin awesome cars... Used to have an 81 280zx t - was an AWESOME sleeper; nobody ever suspected the old flat black primer'd Z.

    Been hunting around for one this year off and on - everything I've seen posted/listed have turned out to suffer the same problems as my old one (unibody rot - basically broke in half)

    I'd perfer the styling of the 240z over the 280z... Heres my fathers friend 240z bought from the states.



    Since this picture it has gone through many engine modifications...

    evey datsun will have rust issues. these cars rust from the inside out. while marks car is relatively rust free on the surface, it is not without rust.

    importracer1: as stated before in this thread, the body of the 240,260 and 280 is basically the same. only the placement of emblems and bumpers is different and some minor changes. if you strip the body of the bumpers and emblems, i doubt you will be able to tell what Z it is.

    240ZG's look bad ass, getting a replica body kit is supposedly pretty hard... But not as hard as finding an OS TC24B1

    Always a soft spot for these old datsuns
    would make a lovely project car
    speed hunters website had a feature on a 240z i believe worth having a peek at.

    That is the perfect car to start with, clean, the right color, etc. Any chance it's for sale?

    PS: I like the 610 photo - great bumper shot. However, I don't care for the wheels with so much negative camber that it looks like the axle is broken.

    solo, whats ur price limit? i know a few datsun guys in calgary.

    Like everything else it depends on the car. I have found a turbo car for $17k and a basic stock one for $6k. Neither of them tickled my fancy though so I haven't made any offers. In a perfect world I would like a nicely done turbo 240z in white.

    well, your right on the money with the price range. didnt you just buy a porsche? lol

    anyways, im pretty sure you know you can put alot of different engines in there (LE28T, LE30T, Sr20, RB25/26, 2JZ, VQ35, Etc.). you should check out marks car for a good starting piont, but there is a TON of work needed on that car for what you want.
