    Default remote shuts down cold

I installed a viper 160 xvl in my brothers 2006 lincoln pick up(f150), When the engine is cold it starts and shuts down almost immediately, when it is warm it runs fine. I have reprogrammed the tach signal when the engine was cold but, still does the same thing. sometimes it will stay running. Anyone have this problem or any advice ? Thank you in advance.

can you see a tach wire run to an injector or a ign coil ? i am guessing they used voltage sensing,

which injector did you use? not that it really matters, but only suggestions i have would be either try a different injector, or try setting the tach threshold to high.. any chance the solder joint is bad ??

I used no 1 injector, should be good, as i said runs fine when the engine is warm. Tried setting it to high, it worked for 3 or 4 times then started doing the same thing.

I would switch it to one of the coilpacks, use non common color.

or switch the unit to alternator sensing and make your connection at the stator wire on the alt.

I find on most fords, that I get less overcrank and cold start issues using a coilpack or alternator sensing.

Also - Could be a bypass issue. Did you use the key in a box method? or an idatalink module?

If Key in box (or you built your own) try switching out the relay (homemade) or if you used a 556u box, switch to a relay.

If idata module was used, try reporgramming / resetting module.

I'll try changing to a coil pack. I have had trouble with alternator sensing in the past on my own truck. I used the ford bypass, never had a problem with theirs. Once it is running the bypass shouldn't be an issue .

I did the diagnostics. it is coming up with a code four ,which is key fob(remote) error , problem is it does it with both remotes. My brother got tired of waiting so he bought a new remote starter, guess I'll be putting in a new one now.
