actually a very common misconception of global warming (ie: people see a local climate get cooler and they think global warming is a fallacy). Global warming causes very irratic weather patterns. This is why we are starting to see places that are usually plagued with drought seeing the exact opposite with major flooding etc. Or seeing places that are usually warmer drop in temperature while others sky rocket. Climate is a very complex topic, one which takes a lifetime to truly understand.

The best indication of world climate is the condition of the arctic ice cap, in 2007 the ice cap shrunk to the smallest size in known history, it has been predicted from climate patterns that we will see the vanishing of the arctic cap within our lifetimes (2050 I believe).


But back on topic, I don't mind the cold winters, I don't mind the warmer winters, but this back and forth is killing me. We are seeing near 30 degree temperature changes in a matter of days. I hate when one day you are wearing a light jacket all day, then the next day you get up, throw on your light jacket to go start your car and you find yourself running back inside like a dog with its tail between its legs haha.

Been checking the weather network to see when it might start to maybe, kind of be a little bit slightly warmer than it is now... Its changes every day lol... I saw Monday at +1, then -7 the other day, now its at -18 lol...

Agreed. What pisses me off is following guys on their motorbikes. Me getting home and my cul-de-sac is filled with snow. Figure two more days of warm weather and I will be good.

Since were SO far north, I would have guessed the melting of the polar ice caps should translate into more milder winters for us

Isn't the record all time high in Calgary like 35 or 36 degrees? How in the world did you 'see' high 30s/40 degree weather?

I totally agree with the OP. I don't usually whine about the weather, but I'm getting pretty sick and tired of this. I know posting on a forum won't help, but I am constantly reminding myself that summer is coming, and I have to make the best of it.
