Why the hell would you rip them out, just work them into a rolling power grid or shut them off for now... some people.

If they can't afford the $60,000 a month minimum payment, then they have no chance at affording $4 million a year. And they are already $58 million in debt.

Which means they probably can't afford electricity for light for many years. So you might as well sell the lamps to reduce debtload.

One has to be pretty far gone to give up light. Last one to leave for the day usually turns out the lights, last one to close up shop entirely sells the lightbulbs.

Haha don't complain. I don't think we have too many at all. If anything, having too little would suck.

Too little would suck but there is still times in Calgary when half them don't work, Crowchild is pitch black 50% of the year at night, sensors always seem to break and they just never turn on. Guess that's one way to save power, stop maintaining them and they won't turn on!
