    SEPTEMBER 2002

    2004 Nissan 350Z convertible

    Fast on the heels of the reborn Nissan Z-car is this convertible version. Nissan won't let even a year pass before removing the 350Z's top. Plans are to offer it in the U.S. sometime between February and April 2003. The 350Z convertible shares all its mechanical components with the recently introduced coupe, including the 287-hp, 3.5-liter V-6 and optional automatic or manual transmissions.

    The Z will have a power-operated top (just release one latch) that tucks under a body-color tonneau. No word on pricing, but figure about $35,000 to start.

    Plenty busy with the coupe version, Nissan isn't ready to show photos of the convertible.

    man I was at Stadium Nissan last week and was looking at the 350 Z (not to buy just to drool over) and man is the rear strut tower brace ever thick! It's monstrous!
