I soaked all my dandelions in the Scotts EcoSense weed "killer". Total joke. Just another under performing and over priced Eco product to make tree huggers fee warm and fuzzy. So now I have mutant black dandelions in my grass. Fuckin zombie dandelions.
haha indeed i have come to accept/love themOriginally posted by [Yu]
I for one, accept our new Dandelion overlords.
the last time i used this flamethrower on the lawn, half the neighbors came out and surrounded the house... followed by the police and fire dept shortly after.Originally posted by ExtraSlow
This will also kill dandilions, but is a bit hard on the grass
lol should of hit them with the flame throwerOriginally posted by turbotrip

All I could think of was this:
You might want to look at something called "Curtail". It'll kill any broad leaf plant and leave the grass alone. As well, it stays in the soil for a couple of years so that no new weeds pop out. It's safe after 6 hours (I think)
Only thing is that you need to buy it bulk (i. 8l concentrate) which mixes at 50:1 (with water)
Being an (ahem) eco-friendly Calgarian, the above statements are all theoretical.
Where can I buy this stuff? I bought like a leter of Weed b gon concentrate for like $55 bucks, mixes into 23 leters, but this stuff sounds petter. I barely sprayed my front lawn and half the shit was gone, not something I want to do at that cost.Originally posted by Czar

czar - did you run the regular curtail or the curtail M?
This is what my front lawn looks like (at least a hunk I care about)
Notice there's better than 30% weed coverage? And this is just the front... Colors good (gotta love CGM for that) - but the empty patches/weeds are killing me...
Curtail M.
Looks like you have some crabgrass in there as well. Curtail won't do anything to that..
If you need crab grass control, you might want to look at Drive 75, or Drive XLR8 (by BASF).
Not worried about the crab grass until I get the rest under control... Gotta get the dandelions, clover and thistle out, and get the lawn strong/thick enough to resist new onslaughts before I start on that issue
If the bulk Curtail M is too uch for one person, I'd love to go splits on some. My lawn needs serious help also.
PM me if interested.

Do you know where to buy this stuff? I might be in on a split, if I knew the initial costsOriginally posted by cidley69

I'm guessing you buy this at UFA.
Czar, where do you buy Curtail?
Do you need any credentials to buy this stuff?

I friend of mine had some (not exactly sure where he got it), but I don't think he had any credentials.
I remember it was about $130 for 8 liters.
This is from the AB Ag webpage:
Curtail M is registered to control or suppress these weeds
dandelion - spring rosettes only

many neighborhoods are. there are some city owned areas around the major roads that are almost total dandelions.
not sure why the city stopped its control program, but it sure seems like a mistake.

Looks okay for a day or two when they mow the blvd and the soccer fields... Our neighbors don't pull their weeds so it is a constant battle trying to make sure they don't spread past the neighbors driveway onto our lawn.Originally posted by codetrap
Hmm.. I wonder if it's cost effective to treat the entire neighborhood.... Coventry is a disaster of weeds.

I am in Coventry, and I completely agree, the Dandelions are just out of control. I can barely keep up to those fuckers. I hate them with a passion, but seeing as none of neighbours seem to give a shit, its a loosing battle. I used Scotts Weed Be Gone, good for the Enviro and it did work, although it looks like I may as well give up, or buy a case of that shit, and do my blow out neighbours yards too.....
A Ferrari is a high maintenance chick, you spend money regardless of what you do with her. You can baby the C63, or slap on all seasons, and you won't be spending anything but yearly maintenance. Of course that's like dating a stripper and refusing to fuck her, which would make you gay.
