Or I have one you can borrow. Need someone in the truck to press brakes while someone is at the back to watch the LEDs.

Im sure I can get my wife or a cinder block to do that job
Posted this in the 'latest purchase' thread but picked up a 2008 Kodiak Scamper 21QS (21ft with a queen size slide on the back). Has dual double bunks on the front, came with dual 30lb tanks, and a thule 3-bike rack. They included the WD hitch and storing it for me for the next 1.5 months.
My only hesitation when I bought it was there's a bubble on the back/right corner. It almost seemed like the fiberglass was not fit properly vs delaminated from water. I got my camera in the back corner + got a camera down there I think it may have been a factory defect the owners never picked saw when they bought it. When I opened it up, the plywood was bent to try and fit around the a the door frame. The board on the inside isn't bubbled, didn't have mold, or any rot. Plus the owners showed me pics of it from years ago and the bubble was there. I'll definitely keep an eye on it … you can see it in the first pic below.
I felt like I stole it for the price I paid for it.
First order of business will be bearings (they had service records regularly - 3 years ago bearings were done and 2 years ago tires were replaced).
That’s moisture damage. It bubbles because it expands on the inside.

Yeah that's what I originally thought too, figured they had left that access door open over the winter or something since it spreads from that door. I'll reseal around that door when it warms up and watch to see if it expands anymore. On the back side there wasn't any deformation of the plywood so I was puzzled (see my comment above about the plywood being bent around the little access door frame). This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Once it warms up a bit hop on the roof and reseal. It’s probably the single most forgotten thing to do and it costs about $15. Just peak off the old beads and put on a new thick one with your finger. They normally last about 3-5 years depending on the silicon used. If the bearings were done 3 years ago I would imagine it’s time. I try to get mine done every second summer but I know people who do it once a year. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
It could also potentially be heat warping. A have a buddy who had his camp bbq a bit to close to the trailer and warped his hardside from heat. I do think your first guess on the access panel leaking is a good one.

Getting ready for the season and today is battery day. Brought the batteries out of the basement. They are Trojan T105's, and are getting pretty old, and at some point I'll replace them. For now they seem to be reasonably strong in terms of resting voltage anyway, which is about the only test that most people can do themselves. 6.32V for one, 6.35V for the other. Topped off the cells with distilled water, will run full charge and "repair" cycles with my NOCO Genius 7200 charger and then install into trailer for the season.

Holy hell, I think someone is stealing my dump valve handles, or thanos has been around my storage place. I had three in December, and trailer hasn't moved since then, and today, first dump of the season, I am missing two and the third is basically disintegrated into dust. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Fuck this. I've seen tips on making your own from a PVC plumbing tee, I think I'll do that, since that may be less desirable to steal.

I took my hubs apart last weekend and cleaned/repacked the bearings. First time on this trailer. Bastard before me reused the bearing seals
How can you tell? You have leakage? This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I can see the damage from a seal puller, and there was moisture and light rust on the races. Thankfully it was well packed so the bearings themselves were good. The spindle threads are all shitty and bear up too though. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Well, got given a set of the andersen camper levellers for my birthday and they are just perfect to get the trailer level enough to stop the water draining out the vents. That's a win.
Also, put on my rona-tech dump valve handles. They feel strong, hope they last a few seasons.
Does anyone know if a pilot light thermocouple is a generic/common part that is universal for RV furnaces and household water tank/furnaces? Couldn’t get the pilot light on the furnace for the tent trailer to stay lit this past weekend and narrowed it down to the thermocouple. I googled RV furnace thermocouple and places like Canadian Tire/Rona/Lowe’s come up in the results. Although their links don’t specifically say for RV furnaces, they all look the same and the specs are VERY generic no matter which place or brand of thermocouple I look up.
End of thermocouple at valve:
End at pilot light:
Calgary is so much like an iphone: iCalgary - There's a bylaw for that.
Go to hobo camper country on Edmonton trail. Take model of furnace and old thermocouple with you.
yeah just go to an RV shop and get the right one, don't waste your time and money by having to do it twice.

Anyone pulling a heavy trailer into BC this year? New regulations for trailers over 4600kg (10,000lbs) apparently.

I've never heard of this before for any jurisdiction. I'm well under 10,000lbs, but still, it's fascinating.
That would only be if insured in BC, no?
The news article makes it sound like they are planning to try to enforce that on out of province drivers too. Requiring them to have an "equivalent endorsement", although since no such endorsement exists in Alberta, I don't know how that work.
Im sure the test is super hard, just like a boating license. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
