Asimov saw this coming a long time ago. Thus his Three Laws of Robotics. Unfortunately scientists can't get it through their collectives heads that just because a thing can be done maybe it shouldn't be done. Someone will sometime come up with this type of AI and then another someone will see a great need to weaponize it at great profit and then the genie is out of the bottle.

Machines won't need a healthy planet so they won't kill us for the environment. They will just enslave us and maybe use as batteries for energy.
