Beyond,
Came back from a recent trip to Japan and seeing how most locals get around on zippy little scooters, has led me to think of getting one myself - more specifically, a Honda Grom. However, by me not seeing many scooters around yyc on my daily commutes, I was wondering what are other people's thoughts on how a scooter (in this case, mini bike) fits in with the yyc vehicle crowd.
Is the the city of Calgary so much different from Japan (weather and road condition wise) that a scooter isn't feasible? Should I save my money and stick with a car or save up more for a more practical bike (i.e., 500cc+)? And finally, will I get crucified riding such a pansy looking bike (although I shouldn't care what others think, but isn't that a point of a forum, to get feedback)?
I've never ridden nor do I know how to ride any type of motorcycles with more than one gear also but willing to learn regardless.
Any feedback (good or bad) is appreciated! Thanks in advance!!
