The big question is: Will a black market emerge?
Not exactly sure how easy it would be to move by truck illegally. Its not like you can hide natgas. Still, there will be those who would be willing to charge 3x the current price, and those who would pay.
Its not a bad time at all for any European citizen to stock up on a little bit of energy. Lumps of coal and solar panels both. Toilet paper is no good if you freeze your genitals to use it.

This would be a great time to move to electric scooters 18 watts per mile (50 miles per kwh, at whatever a kwh costs)

In Calgary @ 10 cents per kwh, that does work out to a solid 500 miles per loonie. Gasoline whut?

Yeah. Economic policy is all about leverage. Germany thought they had it permanently. They were extremely incorrect.

Its sometimes hard to figure out who has the superior position.
USA "banned" Huawei, but at this point even if the USA decides that they want to use superior Huawei technology - they are going to have to steal it because Huawei has already been bitten.
Strange how that works, one day you have plentiful cheap natgas - and the next day you are freezing in the cold. Euros are just euros and US dollars are just US dollars, but natgas keeps you warm and 5G downloads your life in minutes instead of waiting a week. All it would take to cement the idea would be to have a few thousand born European popsicles on the winter.
World is in a strange place, where nations will cling to inferiority (F-35) to maintain empire. Begs the question, should Huawei ban the USA? If USD can be printed with impunity, then to not hoard everything (consume everything) is the wrong policy choice. On assumption that Huawei will also be at least two years ahead of the USA on 6G.
Would the USA ban a Ferrari because it was built too good and went too fast? Exactly who loses in that scenario?
Canadian cheese cartel? Ban everyone.

Canada is best at something...
Instead of setting up long term contracts for NG, Trudeau is giving them the old rust trombone.
