Damn donkeys!
At 0528 hours Calgary EMS responded to a motor vehicle
collision east of Calgary on Highway 1 at Highway 791. A
semi attempted to avoid hitting a donkey, which resulted in a
half-ton truck entering the median and rolling several times.
The driver of the half-ton, a 42-year-old male, was ejected
from the truck as it rolled. He sustained serious back,
shoulder, neck and leg injuries in the crash. Paramedics made
the decision to call in STARS and the man was airlifted to
Foothills Hospital in serious but stable condition.
The RCMP is investigating and they will provide any further
details.
