Default BMW E46 M3 Engine Failure - Fixed?

Looks like BMW made huge design changes to the S54 E46 M3 motor. No official word from BMW regarding what the changes mean, if they solved the blowing up motors problems, but it looks like it could be it.

Summary of changes to S54 motor

    Details of Bottom End changes

    Cylinder head change

The cams have been changed, and it's theorized that they moved the peak power to a lower rpm to help reliability.

Have they admitted to the problem and issued any recalls yet?
And with the new changes, does it mean it can take out a SLK32? haha

No, and most likely no . An official word from BMWNA was promised before the end of the year.

About 2 years ago, as 2001 models.
