Haha, fair enough. I know this too.. I guess there just weren't any suggestions that I was keen on.
Just very tempting after driving it and knowing I could be in it this weekend..
Unless you plan on keeping it long term.Originally posted by ercchry
Where mar asks for advice, then goes and does the exact opposite... like buy a veloster
Vettes are not great buys unless used and at the bottom of their depreciation curves
You're getting a hell of a lot of car with the 2017 z06 for ~$110k, nothing can touch it.
Yeah, except for the 55 year old pot belly dudes in jean shorts with homemade signs listing all factory options at car shows. Yep...everyone one of those vettes is a one off super Grand Sport or some shit Value keeps going upOriginally posted by ercchry

1992 Civic is going to be huge in 10 years because we all want our Civic back when we retires and want our 1st cars back.Originally posted by Sugarphreak
I am going to guess the new Civic Type-R isn't going to go down in value for like 10 years

You could still do your own sort of "euro delivery" experience on a used car, something special from the states... do a road trip and track day sort of thing with it on the way back up... probably still come out ahead vs vette depreciation
Find the next air cooled Porsche and actually walk away with something that increases in value
FIL got to play with an SLS for a while and made like 20% on it when he sold it
It's not a limited production car and will be for sale for this entire generation of Civic. I expect they will mirror STI depreciation.Originally posted by Sugarphreak

I would throw the gen 1 Acura NSX into the low depreciation category. I suspect given the very low production of the Gen 2 NSX that prices will remain very strong on the new NSX. We have had zero issues with the two currently on the road. For 2017 we are getting three NSX's with one already sold. The others a Casino White being built this month and a Nord Grey (June production) are available.
Love cars and cycling. Not your typical car salesman.
Yikes. The NSX has not been a sales success for Acura, especially in the US. Tons for sale at MSRP.Originally posted by Calgarian

Demand for this car is no where near what Honda was expecting. I suspect that a purchaser of a new NSX is going to get murdered by depreciation.
It's not a car for me, but if someone was into them, I think they could wait and pick one up from a dealer that needs to get it out the door.
I particularly like the 1 of 400 in Red for model year 2001 designations to show how rare the car is. Might as well put in 1 of 1 with VIN #xxxxxxxxx.Originally posted by Hallowed_point

I went to corvette owner show at shaganappi gm years ago when I had my camaro. Was that ever a horrible yet funny experience. All these old dudes desperately clawing to whatever little bit of youth they have left. It was basically an entire show of cool dudes wearing oakleys, gold necklaces, tank tops and jean shorts. With the obligatory mid 40's blow up doll in a skirt beside them. Sitting in lawn chairs scowling at people approaching their vette. The theme of the show seemed to be who had the fastest, rarest, lowest mileage, never seen rain stock corvette. or stock with some mirror chrome engine bay pieces, a cold air intake and a corsa exhaust. Plus the elusive +100 hp "chip" tune. The best part though was watching them all scatter when it started to rain. I wish I still had some of the pictures I took from that event.Originally posted by rage2

So anyone on the list for a GT4? How fast do you guys think the 718 will depreciate? Still looking for a 991.1 C4S or a 997 turbo... but looks like a new 718 could be a very similarly priced to a 991.1 C2S and equally fun.
Likely. Depends on how many honda fanboys want it.Originally posted by heavyD

The Raptor and the GT350/GT350R aren't limited production. They both seem to be holding value quite well.

How's the TT-RS for holding value?

Shit, there's only 49 users here, I doubt we'll even break 100
New TTRS is not out yet so we'll see. I would bet the RS3 retains value better; I expect it will be a low depreciating car.

I had a customer at the dealer who bought a brand new ZR-1 in 2009 as an "investment", drove it home and didn't touch it until 2014. Brought it in for its first service with under 200km on it, and it sure as hell hadn't become an "investment".Originally posted by Hallowed_point

I know a guy that got a GT350R for MSRP so I'm not exactly sure why anyone would pay remotely close to that kind of money for that car.Originally posted by benyl

Wut? A car isn't meant to sit in a garage and increase in value?? You mean he should've actually drove it?? Are you nuts?Originally posted by Twin_Cam_Turbo

in 30-40 years that car could be worth a fortune.
Frig, a good condition MKIV Supra is probably increased in value over MSRP already.
