I didn't think any of my EB were terrible on fuel. I've had 2 3.5s(2013/2015) and 1 2.7(2021). Granted I rarely towed anything with them, so I'm definitely talking more as a commuter. Now, the 2019 Tundra I had? Pig on fuel, empty or towing comparatively.

I've had 2 ecoboosts, a 2012 and a 2020, and towed with both. Also had several Ford 5.4 and GM 6.0 trucks in there. Ford 5.4 was the worst fuel economy while towing, and worst experience too. GM 6.0 was much better experience, and a small but better fuel economy while towing.
The Ecoboosts have been the best of that bunch. Most power, lowest noise, lowest drama, and better fuel economy, but again, by a very small amount.
Just like how a turbo engine drives though. I can see why some guys love the diesels. The low rpm torque is lovely.

Obviously haven't tested every engine from every manufacturer, probably not going to.

Man all 3 of My Ecoboosts were amazing on fuel.

    2018 F150 3.5
    2019 F150 Raptor 3.5HO
    2021 F150 2.7

Zero complaints. And as far as issues go, anything that came up Ford's warranty has always been amazing. Compared to GM's, which is complete shit when it comes to dealing with customer warranty issues. I'll take Ford any day.

The fact my 6.2 AT4 is already experiencing problems at 32kms, and the horror stories I constantly read online about the 6.2 failing, Personally, even with the interior redesign in the Sierra/Silverado, I think Ford takes the cake when it come to comfort/convenience. That's just my bias opinion.

Getting rid of the Sierra AT4 and jumping back into an F150. Picking up a 24' Tremor this week. What a night and day difference in quality and ride from the GM...
I drove a well-equipped '24 Silverado RST and a '24 F150 Lariat back-to-back last week. Needless to say, I signed the paperwork on the Ford. And believe it or not, I'm a GM guy at heart.

What I want to know is how the hell you went from a 3.5HO Raptor to a 2.7EB?

I also considered a 2.7 for my new truck but the fuel milage hit from the 2.7 to the 3.5 is negligible, at least on the 2024's.

Was chatting with a friend of mine yesterday, who happens to be a manager at a Ford dealership and he was telling me that he is expecting some new bigger incentives coming in May. Apparently Ford's truck sales are down and there is risk of losing the best selling truck title (50+ years) or something like that.

Not that it matters and maybe off topic, but I've been switching between a brand new Sierra and a brand new F150 EB (very similar options) and the Ford blows the Sierra out of the water in every way.

This is driving each a cpuple times a week for a few hours a day.

    That's all, continue.

do you have to switch to the Sierra because the ford is in the shop a couple times a week?

Lol fair question. But no, just switching based on the available vehicle at the time.

haha the Raptor got sold (regret) and after that I ended up purchasing a new 4 Runner (regret) after I eventually sold that I got a good lease deal on a 2.7 Lariat and the rest was history. Honestly great truck. My brother took over the lease. He got Ford to replace both turbos on it as his OCD heard them rattling. Zero complaints from Ford service (Advantage Ford at least). Compared to 4 GM dealers i've been- I'll take Ford Warranty any day of the week and overall build quality and comfort.

    Not sure, didn't ask.

Just waiting on the new "deal" details to come out.

Yah the 2.7EB ain't half bad. At our altitude, even the baby EB feels stronger than the GM 5.3. Somehow that engine (5.3) still makes the same power & torque as it did 10 years ago, it's a good chunk down on the 5.0 in the F150 and the Hemi

I'm saying that the Coyote is probably the next most reliable motor to the Tundra 5.7

hey, anyone recommend a shop to look at my rear end heh heh. Its starting to hum, even though I've been on top of annual rear diff fluid changes...

    could be wheel hub too.

I thought about it, that engine runs on premium though and at our altitude I'd be willing to bet it's no more powerful than a 3.5EB. Not to mention it gets far worse fuel mileage.

My 3.5l eb gets way better mileage then my v8 … but the wind really affects mileage. I am super happy with mine no engine issues so far, only couple minor issues with taillights and a seat fan.

Would buy again, tows like a dream, super comfy, love work surface, love going over a 1100km on a tank and I have 3.55 rear end and dumbo ears.
