Would be silly to consider a slightly used A35 but not a slightly used Golf R imo. Golf R is a pretty unbeatable little package at the moment in terms of dollars per fun (DPF)
I went from a 340i to a new Golf R as I wanted a hatch/wagon. Such a fun little car to hoon around in, makes me feel 10 years younger every time I drive it.

If you can get over the face only a mother can love (it grew on me over my ownership) you should definitely consider and Elantra N, it also comes in a DCT.
I've owned everything from E60 M5 6 speed, E90 M3, S2000s, Miatas, S13-14-15s, WRX STi to Evos, and I can honestly tell you the Elantra N is by far the most fun I've ever had (maybe except my NA Miata)

It does not take it self seriously, it's an absolute weapon on track and it does everything you ask it do from a daily driving perspective as well.

+1 for Golf R. Checks all the boxes. Great car. Slight regret selling mine.
