Was it @pheoxs a page or so ago who said something about registered party members counting ballots?
That's fucking ridiculous, if that's their system. The minimum requirement to be a scrutineer should be that you are NOT registered as a member of any political party.
I think Canada just takes volunteers. There's no concept of inviting equal numbers of those most incentivized to cheat and assuming it'll be fair.
I do have no idea, though.

just a note on how it works in Canada. The votes are counted by paid staff of Elections Canada (min wage temp employees), who do not have to have or declare their affiliation or lack of one to do that job. The count is overseen by scrutineers from political parties or other organizations who can be paid or volunteers. Those scrutineers can WATCH the count, but they do not touch the ballots, and they do not influence how the ballots are counted. if they have a complaint, they make notes and take that up with their bosses AFTER the count is complete.

GA is much closer, he's only ~1,500 votes ahead there.

Nevada is a slam dunk though so he wins either way - already up to 20,000 in favor of Biden and remaining ballots are predominantly dem.

Biden is ahead almost 50,000 now in AZ for those who still don't believe it wasn't over there days ago.

Read the laws, processes, and procedures for each state in question... its pretty easy to see why things are how they are and why it's taking time to complete... as well as why the trends are going how they are... media doesn't write the laws, even without any media exposure, its easy to see.

Yea, papering and covering up windows to prevent observers from seeing the ballot counting process - is definitely normal and part of an open election system.
