Put one on or get out, if you have some medical reason produce a note from your doctor. There are clearly people in the mall, even whole families, that are quite ignorant that they didn't need to wear one despite the fact that there was signage everywhere and clearly it was the norm.
City already highlighted they aren’t interested in enforcing, if I was making $15/hr at a mall I definitely wouldn’t be risking any Karen meltdown moments. Kicking enforcement to people working service jobs is a silly expectation, I wear face covering because I’ve worked those jobs and don’t want to make their life harder, but by no means do I expect them to uphold a bylaw that city council clearly doesn’t take seriously.

Curious about your perspective based on 1 million plus resident sample size, granted we can’t draw a strong correlation because we don’t have a perfect second universe to perform the same test, but I would expect with a large enough sample size we could get some understanding if the policy made by calgary city council shows any signs of impact one way or another. If the thought is that we don’t have a perfect comparison to another imaginary calgary where the mask bylaw never started, could we not draw the same logic that any other high mask associated region (ex. South Korea, Japan) can’t be used as a counter example as they too have enough differences from Canadian culture, mannerisms, etc. to draw any significant conclusion?

There are too many confounding factors to really isolate one variable.

Note from your doctor isn't required by the municipal bylaw. That would need to be an extra requirement that the business chooses to put in place. They are free to do that, but it may not be a profitable choice.

Adults in Calgary have been playing beer league since the summer...I myself have been playing since the beginning of September. I don't know, for me it's just me wanting to live my life, if I get it and die, well I could've just as easily gotten run over by a Dodge Ram and killed in my car any day of the week. It IS in the back of my mind though, especially when I'm back on the bench gasping for air (I try and lean over as much as I can and breathe in with my head buried in my chest)...I play in shinny group where half of the players are 60+ and they don't seem to care at all.

My son plays novice hockey. No checking of course but lots of face to face with coaches and other kids. We already had a few teams shut down here in Chestermere due to exposure. Wouldn't be surprised to see the whole program canceled in 3 or 4 weeks.

Indoor soccer league is kicking off for my daughter next weekend, they were mentioning registration is down 30-50% depending on the age group, with the recent dgaf mentality of a lot of people around covid lately, I'm starting to wonder what will happen in CMSA league play in the coming weeks/month(s)

It’s a matter of time when sports shuts down. Winnipeg is shutting everything down again now that ICU capacity is at 96%.

That's interesting, my understanding with minor hockey is that registration numbers are actually up a touch.

Here's the latest expert picking a number on a dart board.
"4,000 cases per day in Alberta by Christmas".
    https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/calga...llan-1.5785655

Maybe this is more accurate than whoever told Kenney to say "there will likely be 800,000 cases by May" in his televised address back in April.

Out of curiosity. Do you and your family live your lives as if we are locked down?

Because if you want to there is nothing stopping you from locking yourself in your house full of TP and Navy beans sans government declaration.

Or is it important to you that the government tell you how to live your life?
