Yea cluck isn’t nearly as good as they pretend to be. I prefer to drive a bit further up the road for chicken on the way which at least isn’t pretending to be special. Love me some cotw

Damn, that's too bad. Same thing for Lil' Empire Burgers in Bridgeland, premium price and didn't get a premium product (particularly their bun which is literally on-par with McDicks).

Fuck you, deep, deep, dirty south
There is a Wow Chicken now by the Edgemont Superstore. Bowness Yum yum Chicken should be reopening soon too.
Had wow chicken last weekend, was not disappoint.
Found the menu a bit daunting though, what is the A+ order config?

What's your take on K Town ?This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Compared to WOW chicken better ? Same ?
I hit comery block a few weeks ago.
My take:
Fantastic breading and chili oil flavour, amazing crunch. I got the Crazy hot (one level down) and that was perfect. Some of the closest to Nashville I have found in Calgary which is commendable.
However, the chicken itself was flavourless. Really screaming for a long flavourful brine prior to fry. Once you inevitably eat the crust off the Chicken just has no flavour which is disappointing. They also do 1/4 chicken pieces, which is honestly just too big. 1/8 pieces is much easier to eat, and I bet they would sell more that way as I probably would eat more than a 1/4 chicken but not a 1/2.
Sides were very hit and miss, great potato salad, mediocre Mac and cheese, good broccoli salad, green beans seemed like they were steamed and had grease poured on them after aka gross.

We like both and IMO for plain crispy chicken, WOW is the better one. We like to order the boneless thighs. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Another one that we surprisingly liked is Bonga Sun in Chinatown. we'll try to support this small restauarant.

Ha, that's exactly my take on their sides too. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
^ Thats too bad that it’s more systemic rather than I was just there a bad night.
I really like the restaurant concepts, loved Hayden when it first opened. But I can’t tolerate paying their prices for mediocre food.
I have very high hopes, but tempered expectations for their new location at Wurst. Especially considering the location it’s absolutely perfect for me.

Bongo is awesome, so underrated and does not get mentioned much probably because they are a Korean restaurant that also serves fried chicken compared to the dedicated fried chicken joints. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
trying is the first step towards failure
Somewhat on topic, Alumni has easily the best hot chicken sandwich I've had. They give you the option for half spice or full spice, and full is actually spicy. Chicken always nice and crunchy, pickles are great... it's just awesome.
I’ve also heard that. Just never been. Must be a gap of mine I guess.

They make the green beans pretty well how I had them when I went for fried chicken in the black urban areas in LA.This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
The M&C is just inexcusable though.
