Looks great but too bad its FWD and there is no V8 option. It is still going to be about 17 billion times better than the current Amanti. Hyundi and Kia really have their shit together these days.

Peter Schreyer will be the next Design Director at Kia Motors. He has worked at Audi for more than 25 years, and created the original Audi TT.

I was just thinking that - it'd be nice if it was RWD. However Kia attracts the casual drivers more than anything else, and FWD seems to have to stigma (and the truth to less experienced/casual drivers) that FWD is better in the winter.

Also if they release a v6 with 280 hp that isnt too shabby either.

FWD is much cheaper to maintain/build than RWD or AWD. And safe in hands of most drivers.

This seam to aim directly at TSX/TL, ES and Maxima. All are very well established players.

I would have to agree that its target market is probably going to be looking for the FWD, so that was likely an OK move. I still think an AWD option would be nice.

This will probably cut into the sales of cars like the Accord/Camry/Mazda6/Altima.

With the G35 available, I don't understand why anyone buy's the Maxima.

Personally I'm not a fan of g35 sedans, just the coupes so I'd take a used maxima vs a used g35 but thats just me.

i think Hyundai being the parent company, doesnt want Kia overshadowing/nudging next to its flagship genesis sedan.

but you know, on the Hundai side of things, whether it be manufacturer or tuning company, somebody is gonna fit that V8 into a coupe and it'll be great lol

I agree this one has potential, and like 403Gemeni, I too feel dirty for almost liking it.

But I have to disagree on the Soul, that peice looks like someone craped in a pile on the floor and they put wheels on it. IMHO.

The Kia VG Concept has been unveiled at the Seoul Auto Show and it looks... good. Nice for a concept? No, it's a veiled version of a V6-powered FWD flagship replacement for the Amanti.

The Kia VG will be going on sale later this year in Korea with international distribution following thereafter, including the US. The possibility of production is revealed in its believable powertrain. The VG starts off with a 194.6 inch overall length over a front-wheel-drive platform motivated by a 3.5-liter V6 good for 277 HP, which is backed up by a manumatic six speed transmission. The car wears the now-familiar Kia grille flanked by some slightly surprised-looking headlights and and surprisingly sleek bodywork. Inside, there's a mix of concept car doo-dads and actual hardware. We're expecting the general layout to be the same in the production version, but the high tech center console and gauge cluster are not likely. Kia needs to start being more careful or they'll become a respectable car maker.
