Review:
Came in this box with no instruction. But seller has a website with all the info so I'm not too worry about it.
Plug it in, set the FM frequency and you start to hear the engine rumble. Sounds alright for a low quality FM transmitter on a 8-speaker Bose head unit.
Took it out on the street and it didn't seem to work. It did not until I start to rev higher leaving the neighborhood. Then the sweet sound of a high revving V10 comes in. Although the sound isn't as throaty as the V8 version in those videos I posted
The sound matches the tach and throttle perfectly. The only downside is that having 250HP car means you can't really mash on the throttle too much before you get into reckless driving territory. Now I know how the exotic owners feel driving in the city.
Over all, not a bad toy. Had a smile on my face when going off ramp to Deerfoot accelerating to 100kph. But I bet I would have more fun if I still have my 1st car, the 105HP Honda Civic that I have to rev the shit out of it to go anywhere.
Pros:
- Sounds good
- Easy to install
- Double as PMP FM transmitter
- Engine sound tuning? Vol/Bas/Tre +/-
Cons:
- It makes you want to drive fast
- Inconsistent sound mapping on every reboot
- It does get annoying if you are stuck in traffic.
- Works better on low power output engines.
Rating: 3/5
Price: ~$50cdn including shipping off Ebay.
