FUCK tranny is gone.

2000 3.2 TL was perfectly fine up until yesterday and now today, it needs a new tranny. acura quoted me 7-10k for a new tranny and install pfffft.

was quoted 3k for a fully rebuilt and installed tranny. if i can find my own tranny, is there anyone on here that can potentially install it for less? TIA im in a serious bind here as its my only car for my family right now.

My friends Honda Odyssey trans blew at 150,000kms and found a used one from Lunds autowreckers (in edmonton), they installed it for $2100, providing that the prices are similar for wreckers here, and the Honda/Acura trannys are close in price. This was by far the most cost effective way he could find, he quickly sold the van after that (the j-yard tranny had 140,000 kms)Beware, because the cheapest rebuild shop also quoted $3000 but that was plus hard parts or any other problems they encounter when they open up the trans. I would do the Junkyard route just to get it going again and then sell it Quick before it leaves you stuck again with a huge $$$$$ repair!

i had 3.2cl-s and had its tranny fixed

i brought it up to some place @ 17th called rams transmission i think

total price was like 3.something k

Damn that sucks dude. My tranny is giving me problems in my Odyssey and I was quote $2000 by National transmission about a year ago but I have yet to get it done. Try calling A1 parts first before you do anything.

HondaToy in Edmonton will be able to sell you a used one....possibly even install it

As said those cars are terrible for tranny issues as well as the odyssey.
Best bet is trying to source and used one and unloading the car asap

Everyone I know who's owned EITHER of the two vehicles mentioned has blown their tranny. It was just a matter of time, unfortunately.

Shame - from a company typically known for making great cars.

lol wow that was 4 years ago! i got this car for a good price because my inlaws owned it from almost new. they had no tranny issues and until a few days ago neither had i, no warning signs, nothing, just boom.

fyi, back then i opted for an 07 outlander instead of a car anyways lol, which i also dont have anymore. i change cars like i change underwear, but i was going to keep this for a while. even after i get the tranny replaced, i might not at this point. might as well cut my losses and call it a day.

3K rebuilt and installed is not a bad deal at all. I think you'll be hard pressed to get it done for less.

They also had one for my Legend which I figure isn't that common so I'd give them a try.

try A1 and talk to Mark. im sure he still have 2 TL-S tranny since they have few typeS engine there still. and i believe one with 8k km and the other with 80k km on it.

edit: too bad ur is 5-speed cuz i have a 4-speed with engine laying around.
