    Default Land Rover Evoque

I searched and was surprised to find nothing but a mention of this car in the TG season 17 thread.

I saw one of these (the 3-door) yesterday and I was absolutely amazed. This thing is jaw-dropping from any angle, and I would be very surprised if they don't sell tons of them. The rear window on the coupe is tiny, they really committed to the design but it's a remarkable result.

It's ~45kUS, so about 3k more than the turbo X3, about 3k less than the base X5, and about a million less than the X6.

    Here's some pics.

Thoughts? You might notice the manual transmission in that interior shot but it's apparently available only on the diesel which will not be sold in the US or Canada.

Haven't seen one yet in person but from all the pics I have to agree it does look really good. But the power of the turbo X3 is hard to argue with.

Reminds me of the Ford EDGE, but still I like it.

Isn't the Evoque more X1 sized? I wouldn't see it competing with the new X3, it's not nearly as big a vehicle.

Land Rover has always made nice looking cars.

The problem is that they are also ticking time bombs in terms of repairs.

My Mom test drive the first one that came in, her main impressions is that it felt quite small on the inside, and the engine felt gutless....needless to say she took her deposit back

I was invited to the unveiling event of this vehicle. They had quite a nice show/set up going and hyped it up quite a bit. With hockey players being present and all. The car does look quite nice, although it isn't really my type. Was thinking of taking pics at the event, but my phone battery was dead by the time they actually unveiled it. They had three different models at the time. My guy there invited me to test drive it the next day, but I just couldn't be bothered.

I was sold after bot the TG and 5th Gear reviews. It looks to be a very capable machine! It looks good, the one review showed plenty of room in the back seat for a 6'3" guy. Plus the available features make it a very practical daily for all four seasons here. Would buy!

    Just need $50k...

Saw one sitting on the lot when I took a cruise through the auto mall the other day. Nice looking car, not sure if I would buy one. As a side note I saw a defender on the lot as well. Had no idea you could buy a defender In Canada.

Nope similar in size to the X3, if Im not mistaken its basically the replacement to the LR2, Ford edge chassis/engine with Land rovers patented suspension setup.

Very feminine looking car, would compete against those looking at an Enclave, rx350, lincoln suv.

Is that Range Rover sticker really on the front and rear of the truck? I thought that was only reserved for actual range rovers.
Looking for a new VW? How about a used vehicle? We are Central Albertas #1 source for pre-owned vehicles

$46K to $66K, that's one expensive Ford Edge with a 2L, 240HP engine. Call me back when they add another 100HP on it.

Saw this at this years car show. (Pre-production) Didn't think it would be so close to what I saw. The 3 door is gorgeous but the 5 door looks a little wierd.
You could say that again. Booze just kept flowing. We walked home (tried to plow at that elgin monument hill park thing) haha...too cold, but that explains the night.

You can get a ford edge upwards of that cost they are about $45 fully loaded. I rather switch over to this at that price, and with more capabilities.

Ford will be releasing a new engine for the edge next year (according to salesmen at the ford dealership). Maybe Range Rover will get the new turbo engine too?

Anyway, Just by going off some reviews and vids of the vehicle, it seems that it will be very capable. Watching that thing go down the 1:1 slop on 5th gear with no struggle impressed me. Seeing the control in winter driving seems an even bigger bonus!
