Furnace Humidifer

My humidifier has recently started making a bit of noise before the furnace fires up? I believe it could be a clogging of the filter pad. Does anyone know how to clean the pad? I see that the paneling would be easily removed but I'd like to get an idea of what I might be facing before i just tear into it.

What kind? Since you mentioned noise, I assume it would be the drum type. The rotating drum type doesn't quite work with our hard water here, the pad just gets gummed up soon after you replace it.

The pad is not difficult to replace, you can get them at Home Depot, Rona.....

Or you can probably clean it with diluted vinegar if it's worth it.

FYI for anyone else - The issue was indeed a clogged up pad. Cleaned it out with CLR and have had no issue since.
