Oh nice, thanks for posting that. I've been thinking about replacing the ones in my teardrop since they don't have deadbolts. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

I shouldn’t have linked that one, buy the AP Product one instead as you can get extra/replacement keys easily.
Or buy from B&M, they sell the brands that offer the same service.
Thanks suntan! B&M? I'm not familiar.
Does anyone have any experience with just setting up one of those outdoor mosquito zappers with the purple light that are supposed to give you 10m of protection? This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Brick and Mortar. Hobo sells them and he has extra keys so if you lock yourself out or if you want to change out the cylinder he can help you out. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Might be time to pick up a new WD Hitch. Curt has some decently priced ones. Trailer is ~4500lbs but I was going to buy an 8000lbs rated (800lb tongue weight) WD Hitch to be safe. Round Bar vs. Trunion Bar, both seem to be about the same price, which one is better?

The ones you linked are all round bar. Flat bar (trunnion) is easier to install though. More than once I have had to fuck with my height to get the round bars in/out from the bottom.
I'd get an Andersen WD hitch. Pointless otherwise. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I'm not a fan of the add-on friction-based sway control. Andersen is apparently amazing for sway, just not as great at the WD part for lighter trucks.

So either a Anderson or don't bother with weight distribution at all? That sounds like dangerous advice. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I'm not keen on it either, but I only throw it on when it's excessively heavy side winds. It has made me feel safer the few times I've pulled over to install it.This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

I'm no expert. I think good WD acts as pretty decent SC. Great SC doesn't work at all as WD. I don't love my current Curt Trunnion bar hitch for the SC.

No, it sounds like he already has a WD hitch, getting yet another one of the exact same kind is rather pointless. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Sorry this was the trunion bar one https://www.tdotperformance.ca/curt-...union-bar.htmlThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
If you're starting from scratch, I would go with the trunnion style, just because of height issues. For your size trailer there's no functional difference while towing. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
If someone smarter than me can reccomend a "better" trunnion style, that'd be handy. I hear good things about Reese "strait line" and the blue ox, but not sure how those are better.

Better anti sway and less bouncing.
Designs where you have bars sitting on a bracket are supposed to have better WD abilities.
Also some of them are rated for ridiculous weights.
But they're sometimes twice the cost. I had an equalizer brand for my first trailer, that damned thing was like $800.
Have you ever seen the cost of the propride? Now that's an expensive hitch!
I may be getting out of the trailer game for a bit. Fuck it.

I sold my trailer and am selling my truck. Bought a giant tent instead. Gonna backcountry.
Jesus that propride is expensive.
I'm planning to sell trailer mid-July.
