you don't "need" any kind of bet protection. The tonneau is a good idea though. I like the soft rolling kind best. Good value. Bought mine from tirebob, and at the time, he was cheaper than online.
kk good to know, just figured the bed liner is cheap enough so why not, it's just to withstand a hockey bag that's about it lol
sounds good, time to finally get around to give bob some beyond biz

Beds scratch easily, not sure if it matters on a lease… could always spray it later if needed.

Spray-in is best, but hard to justify on a 2yr lease.

Could just do a bed mat which could cover 90% of needs.

yea the tough bed spray liner was $600 and a mat is $130 so mat just seems easy

Yeah, there is only so much you can do to try and gain the respect of the nurse’s rural Alberta parents

Edit: there was supposed to be a joke in there about using the bed for farming activities… haha

Spray-in liner for the win, but hard to beat $130 for a mat.

I ran a Bison soft cover.

    https://bisontonneaucovers.com/colle...tonneau-covers

Cheap and did the job. Still have my 5.5' off of my 2021 if anyone wants a cheap cover and are in the Edmonton area.
I went with a low profile Bison tri-fold (https://bisontonneaucovers.com/colle...-tonneau-cover) and have been really impressed. At $679, it's less than half of what the brand name ones go for. And honestly I can't tell it apart from my previous UnderCover Tri-Fold. Plus you can choose free shipping to your door, or if you go to their shop in Calgary, they will install it for free.

Oh that’s awesome. Thx for heads up there as well

What about tailgate liner? I’m assuming that’s sold separate from the bed mat liner or is that over kill for a hockey bag now lol

Kk I see they go for 80-$100ish

For anything you'd put in a car trunk, you don't need any protection in your truck bed. Max, you are going to use this like a car, no worries. And if you happen to scratch the bed, that too is no big deal. It's a rental buddy.

it's been a few years but last time I leased a Sierra for 2 years the dealership did not care about all the dents and gouges in the bed when I returned in.
They said it can easily be covered in bed liner for the next buyer.
    This was back in 2017.

ES is right if you do car things in a truck bed liner not needed, if you do truck things then bedliner is a must.

tonneau cover, if you want to leave anything of value in the box soft tonneau are useless... i personally like my tri folds , i have a bakflip

You are right about soft cover providing no PHYSICAL security, but they do provide that "out of sight, out of mind" status. I mean, folks will smash your windows for a twonie these days, so I'm not thinking my soft tonneau will protect a pallet of gold bricks.

If you're returning it at the end of the lease, the bed is covered under wear and tear IIRC.

Two long flat screwdrivers. One to pry it up so you can see what you're doing, and the other one to push down on the cable or whatever it is to release it. I've had to break into mine when my tailgate latch fell apart, and the only way to fix it was to get at it from the inside. I thought the same as you but when I had to do it I found out how easy it is. On the plus side, a motivated but careful thief won't wreck the cover like he would a soft cover with a knife.

I have heard stories of guys with the F150 putting holes in the bed pretty easily since its aluminium. That being said, if the bed is covered on the lease then it's not a big deal. I personally have a spray in liner that I love. I would never go bare bed myself

I went with the Bakflip xs4, which might be as excessive as the mudflaps based on the replies
