    Old post. The tech is crazy expensive and not practical nor necessary. Not bashing green energy but solar is one of the least cost effective methods to generate electricity.

    Also the biggest flaw in this tech is the coefficient of friction. I dont care what texture it has, Glass/polycarbonate is not a suitable road surface.

    I believe that title goes to Wind power. Not solar.

    And depends on where the installation is, PV solar is now on par with NG fired plants in $/MWh.

    Really? Isn't coal still king for cost effective? Maybe for new installations, but existing stuff is cheap to run no?

    No it isn't. The levelized cost of CCGT is ~70/MWh, PV solar is ~200/MWh.
