Default Good summer only performance tire?

Currently running BFGoodrich GForce T/A KDW's. (Pic attached.) They were super sticky and great for the street. Looking for a high-performance similar tire (215-40-R17) for my Mazda as the KDW's are discontinued. Does anyone have any suggestions? Wear is not an issue, I want maximum traction.

The car is never driven in the rain, however, I don't want a slick. Just a good, sticky, summer street tire. I'll get slicks for the track.

    Thanks!

Yokohama Advan Neova AD08R looks similiar tread to those and are availible.

But not much choice when I search for your tire size through my Tire suppliers.

*couldn't find any Michelin Super Sports in that sizing*

Toyo Proxy T1R discontinued in your sizing.

A few other brands like Kumho, Westlake (never heard of them, China tire), Nexen but lots of bigger name brands seem to be discontiuing in that size.

I can go to a 205/40 also. Not stuck on 215. Had Nexen's before and never again. Wore out too quickly and terrible traction. At least on the N3000's that I had.

Looks like the Toyo R888's might be what I'm looking for? This car is not a daily driver nor will it ever see any kind of moisture.

    You'd wanna go 225/40 not 205/40

I can source 215/45 Super Sports

A 205/40 (pictured above) fits fairly "square" on my rims. Would a 225 not stick out too much?

If you want to stay around 300 grip (UTQG) rating then try Yokohama s drive. My usual summer tire.

S Drives are garbage compared to the other tire alternatives posted.

If 205/40 is what you got now, I'd do 215/40. Don't need to step up to 45 . Give you a little bit more meat to put the power down since you got the turbozz

The Michelin's will be WAY quieter than the KDW's too if you are used to those.

Bridgestone RE71R if you can find a size that works for you. They are the tire to have at auto x this year.

    Hoosierstones.

Forgot to add, noise and comfort are not a concern for this car. I have an F150 daily driver this car is purely for fun, so the stickier the better. As I asked above, I can do 215, but would 225 stick out too much?

From the Miata forums I hear the RE71R offer better performance than the R888. 949Racing being a notable champion of the RE71R's having made the switch from the R888.

Not much choice in the 215

If you do the 205 there is r888 and nt01
