"Sir" title.

Who gets to use it?

Of the four that tend to be popular: Mr, Mrs, Dr, Sir.

I was always under the impression that Sir or Sire was a definitive British title, just like Dr always specified legal doctor.

What is the exact rule on being a Esq, Lord, Lady, Emir, Chief, Sultan, Efendi, etc... Asians don't tend to have such a blatant structure, and confusion reigns.

To truly have "Sir" before your name you need to be knighted by the Queen.

This is why people Sean Connery is actually Sir Sean Connery and a few others have the title.

I remembered when I worked at Starchoice, I asked a customer what his name was (confirm identity)

*clears throat* DOCTOR whatever whatever.

i then replied with just his first name asking for his address or something, he interrupts me to say DR.

I continued to not call him Doctor.

I fucking hate people who do that. I make it a point not to address people by their titles too. They haven't done anything to earn my respect so why should I address them so?

Yes, that's why most profs in university are addressed as Dr.

I added Master as my title for my Aeroplan card.

They kept putting me in the BACK of the plane against the window. I asked why is this happening? The Air Canada rep said Master is reserved for their young children haha.

Anyway, I got it changed..

I know someone who only does that when he's mad at someone. Then he'll interrupt them and say "It's Doctor."

Last week in a store I got addressed as sir. I looked around trying to figure out who they were talking to.

I even find it weird when someone addresses me as Mr.



But if I had a PhD. I would defintely make everyone call me Dr. I would be that douche.
