Cream leather conditioners

It's been a while since I've had a need to use any leather conditioner and when I did I preferred cream conditioners to sprays and wipes.

What's good out there now?

I like Autoglym products, especially since they sell it at Canadian Tire now. The Autoglym leather conditioner is nice since it's not a cleaner combo.

I actually prefer to just use the Autoglym cleaner only, it leaves a matte and non-oily feel to the leather. It just feels clean. From what I've been reading, most automotive leather is coated anyway, so it's fine to just clean it.

^^^I have also been happy with the autoglym. You have to read the instructions though as it is not just wipe on. Vacuum & brush, apply cleaner, wait a few minutes, damp cloth off. Let dry then apply conditioner, wait a few minutes and wipe with dry cloth.

Autoglym seemed to work well for me too, and easily found at CT. There's probably better stuff out there if you want to pay for it.

I agree that AG gets the job done at minimal cost. I like it that it gives a low-gloss finish (which is how it should be). But I do find Lexol conditioner and Swissvax leather milk does retain the suppleness much longer than AG.

I have Zymol Treat that I bought a few years ago, works well. But last summer I picked up Lexol and use it on my motorcycle leathers as well, I have to say it works better on leather than the Zymol for a fraction of the price.

Actually, my whole point of this thread was finding a conditioner for my motorcycle jacket. Did you buy the Lexol locally?

You can pick up lexol at the Horse Store on Kensington road. They have a pretty big selection of leather care products

How much Lexol do you need?

I bought a huge, jug of last year and after doing the seats in the car, jackets, couches etc I still have some left over. You could put some in a container for free as I will only be doing my car seats going forward.

You guys should try leatherique amazing product. I used zymol and lexol for my cars, but i like it better than the two.

Leatherique is THE BEST product available.

That worked really well with the nappa leather on my S4.

Then I tried Mothers leather creme (http://www.mothers.com/02_products/0...tml#&slider1=2) before I sent my S4 away and didn't like it.

I have no idea what to try yet on current ride because the seat has rough grain, i know Mothers is no go. So may be going back to Z10 or give the suggestions here a try.

Thats funny, because I thought the Mothers Cream was night and day better than Lexol.. Im sure a lot of the experience depends on the leather.

You are right about that. Lexol is worse.

The research I've read says that leather conditioners are pointless in pretty much any car made in the last 20 years. The leather in modern cars have a clear protective layer that will not absorb conditioners.

I'm going to give Gtechniq L1 a try. It's seems to be one of the only products I've come across that is designed to target that protective layer found in leather.
