I'd have to know the family name otherwise, you end up like my old neighbour Harold Butts. Yes he went by Harry to friends and I've no idea of his middle name, it never came up.

Girls get feminine names, nothing feminine about the name Harper. I can see a kid bugging her by saying "I'd like to play that Harp", etc. Kids can be cruel and can twist anything into a cruel joke.

Rose, Mae and Grace... I'll go out on a limb and assume it will be a family name from the Asian side of things. Hard to fault a name like Grace in any case.

I have to agree wit the above comment that all the names in fact sound like porn star names haha. Harper also reminds me of Stephen Harper. Not that my opinion matters one shred toward naming someone else's child, but the more I see it I am really not a fan of the name.

I'll go one step further and assume that it is a Filipino family.

    Harper Beyond.ca ...
Because of all the helpful responses.

To be honest middle names aren't terribly important to anybody else, do what you want. Very few people know my middle name and I rarely use it, but I like it since its been passed down through the guys in my family. The odd dutch spelling is useful since my other two names are so common.

I have never met someone with no middle name, but then I make up for some others as I have 2 middle names.

If my mother used both my middle names when addressing me, I knew I was in trouble.

I am going to have to agree with this...

Though her middle name should be Rambolina regardless.

This is complete bullshit. At some point in time in your life, especially while young, your middle name WILL be required in some way, shape, or form. And if it is weird...

My middle name is Ernest, not exactly a crazy middle name (my father's name), but the ridicule I received for that would blow your mind, all the way up to around grade 6 IIRC.

Kids are the f*&king worst, no need to make your's an easier target.

If they were worried about ridicule they wouldn't name their daughter Harper.

All the guys saying Harper is a bad name. Honest suggestions, what's better? And don't say daughter mcdaughterface, we all know it doesn't get any better than that.

You expert name pickers have peaked my curiosity.

Explain what you think is so great about it? You've peaked my curiosity as to why it is a good or even an acceptable name?

Well it looks like I got the expected responses from beyond. Can always count on you guys for brutal honesty. Can anyone explain with a mature reason why Harper is so bad?

I don't have a middle name and 2/3 of my kids don't have one either. I know a lot of people that don't have a middle name either. I've never come across a situation where I required one
But, yes I guess if you have one and a form or something requires you to fill it in or have it published then you're required to provide it and can't leave it out if it's one you don't like?
