Show QuoteThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show QuoteThanks everyone. This will be baby # 1 for us and that too after having a couple of miscarriages before so getting more and more excited/nervous as we get closer to mid-July. Been keeping cautiously optimistic the whole time and now starting to see a positive light at the end of the tunnel. At the end of the day the fact is with the wife’s SUV and my Grand Cherokee we are good for a baby vehicle but definitely been wanting to make financially prudent decisions, at least for the time being and yea I don’t imagine I’d get to drive the r8 much so decided to unload it. But the right option needs to come along and so far nothing really is ‘hitting the spot’. I won’t complain about keeping it in the meantime for sure but will unload as soon as the right option comes along. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
^Oh man, I'm truly sorry to hear about the previous issues. We'll all be pulling for you. Make sure Mrs. @shak gets a shit pile of rest while you bring home some bacon.

Congrats @shakalaka ! That's awesome you'll be reading the Dad thread non-stop now.
Haha thanks. I definitely need to venture my way over there soon.
Well if you want a bronco I’ll probably have one available soon… the plan of making my actually ordered one take longer (adding a hardtop) didn’t work, looks like a mid-Jun delivery
@shakalaka many congrats friend. Wish mom and baby all the best. See you in dad thread.
I’m very supportive of the foot wedge

Continuing my perfect lifetime streak of never seeing a cool vanity plate.
@shakalaka - thanks for the info Shakalaka, truly hope for a positive outcome for you and you and Mrs. Shak. It's going to be interesting to see where you land regarding car(s) now.
Gen 1 Civic isn't it? My first car was going to be identical to that, it was even blue, and sat in my father's garage for months, but I never got it running, trying to figure it all out pre internet circa 1988 when I was 15. Cool grab, haven't seen one on the road in ages, and this part of SK is known for having a ton of old/vintage cars like this on the road. Did you know you could turn the windshield washer jets 90 degrees, and shoot people with a direct, strong, and accurate water jet as the passed by in the oncoming lane? Pretty obvious why I never figured the motor out, right, but wth, I was 15, and priorities were different. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

And as far as cars go, will try to keep the obsession going to an extent if feasible, haha. For now, I am back to seriously considering a 718 Cayman S as it seems to be logical that a sports car replaces a sports car. But let’s see. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. If you have a kid on the way I’d just sell the R8 and wait and see what your lifestyle and needs feel like.
I sold my truck a couple months after I had my kid when I woke up one day and realized I hadn’t filled it up since my kid was born.
There are always loads of cars for sale.
Worst case you buy another R8 in 2 years and you have an R8’s worth of money in your jeans until then.

I got out of the sports car game when I realized it's most common destination was Sobeys.

This isn’t even being cynical. The first couple years are a paradigm shift and it’s better not to have the distraction of a 2 seater car that you can never drive.
