I love this car, was intending on keeping it long term. Since the Miata, the kids love convertibles. I actually contemplated getting the convertible instead of the coupe originally, but the kids were too young and didn't think it'd work out well. So ya, the replacement is the exact same car, but convertible. Same color combo, slightly different interior color (went with black with grey leather accents), same options. Actually less options, because of chip shortage, I can't get massage seats, rear seat heaters, or heated armrests. They've been slowly cutting down the options as it gets closer to the already delayed production date. I'll be pissed if it's delayed past the Trudeau luxury tax.

The next C and E coupe/convertible got discontinued. Supposedly replaced with a C class based CLE convertible. This generation was the first time the E Coupe/Convertible was based on the E platform, and was super roomy because of it. Even the CLK's were based on the C class of it's era. So this time (for real) it'll be a keeper? lol

My kids want me to change up the color, I'm contemplating white with burgundy top to go super old man look, but if I'm keeping it long term, I don't want to deal with yellowing film. If I do, I'm going all out with a white interior haha.





Realistically, I'll be boring again and it'll be black, again.

LOL, you described it perfectly, thought instantly that color combo is "old man" haha. I too like black and darker vehicles, but I always appreciate the clean white with light interior, not so hot during summer. We getting more of those heat domes/waves? They all say there's guarantee for PPF yellowing but I don't believe it but I think you'll be ok replacing it every few years if needed. or PPF the whole car so you don't really notice it for a couple more years and don't park beside another white car. lol

Happy to know it's not a downgrade and makes sense with new model line ups! This car is so well balanced. Great compromise with the kids.

yay! something other than black.

There is a reason car companies don't launch cars in black (other than the recent Lotus for some reason). It's because in the day, their lines are flattened, and at night they just look like blobs with tail-lights.

White interior interestingly enough is actually hotter in a convertible with the sun out while driving. The sun reflects like crazy back onto you. Black interiors are hot as hell parked, but is more comfortable to drive in.
