When I build an engine myself I do a very hard break-in. But for one with a warranty, I'll follow their recommendations so they don't have an "out".

Differential is likely due to peak torque and hp not being at the same point for both motors. If they peak at different points, you don't get the sum of each peak as the total.

That actually makes a lot of sense, especially for power.

I'll likely age myself with this one but 2ave NE, eastbound between 2nd st and 3 st was once open to traffic and you would easily get air once crossing 3rd st. This one was bad enough that they've had the road closed for ~20 years.
