75K is my mileage limit for German cars, after that I stress too much. Granted I owned an '07 335 way back when, which was a poster child for all the typical N54 issues.
I often think about getting a low km manual N54 coupe which is often posted at a tempting price. But usually it's because of what you said, prior owner unloading it after maxing out their mastercard or it's about to pop and they don't want to be stuck with the german tax.

I now carry a fire extinguisher in all of my cars because of my N54 days. Seriously.

I thought you had to chase down some VANOS issues? Or maybe the intake mani was apart just to install the SC?
Intake mani was apart to do supercharger, vanos seals because they were a bit leaky and super visible on the front of the engine, more of a cosmetic thing.

We had a local event that called for near zero temps and freezing rain. The daily (335) was on all season tires so I figured why not. First run all good (fastest time actually), second run I pulled into grid and had smoke pouring through the vents. German junk.

Luckily there were fire extinguishers in grid so we got the fire extinguished very quickly and the damage was limited, but it could have been a lot worse.

Shitty. I'm 8k including the car into my 08 335 and so far so good with 217k on it. Got some oil leaks fixed and some burned up wiring fixed and just basic oil changes etc, completely stock though.

Now that I say this it's going to explode.

    ^^ Why not lol? ^^

They are coming WAY down in value. Watched a Lariat stall out at $77,000 at the auction, last week a XLT for $70,000. Was a no sale as they still thought it should be worth $110,000+.

Hasn't moved in a while. Not sure what the deal is with it. This is at a large oil sands site, part of the fleet.

Just curious, do those have instant hot heat when cold "started"? Might be nicer to hop in than waiting for a normal truck to warm up

Watched a vid on a tesla in saskachatoon and it was -34 out with a cabin temp of -21 and within 4 minutes he had it up to 19 degrees. Not sure if this is the pre condition thing but either way that was pretty slick.

and I did not have the only say in the matter (most people just want it done ASAP and don't care about quality).

If anything we made a better decision because we had a consensus and were all on the same page.

Hi Brian Spilner, I like how clean your garage is. Do you have an in-floor drainage system? I am getting my epoxy'ed this summer but I don't have drains so if it's going to still remain equally as dirty in the winters regardless of the epoxy then I might not even bother.

Swisstrax will keep your floors cleaner than epoxy
