I've been wanting to try SRAM e-tap for a while anyway.

Doesn't SRAM have the same restrictions as Shimano? I have 10 speed Rival setup on one of my bikes and getting parts is a huge pain. The guys at Bike and Brew are always helpful and willing to order parts but it requires a good bit more work. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
The ripple effect of this is that all north american retailers are going to start raising their prices as they no longer have to deal with retailers that don't need to abide by a minimum price. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
It may not be sold on Chain Reaction, but it's an American company so parts should at least be available to North American customers. If SRAM and Campy are going to be as accessible as Shimano going forward, no reason not to try another group set unless you're tied to the brand for some other reason. I'm also just intrigued by the idea of completely wireless shifting. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
SRAM has better 1x options too. Which online retailers offer SRAM?
all of them?
I’ve been much happier with my SRAM bikes anyways. SRAM red on the climber, Etap on the race bike.
Likewise! My old 10 speed Rival group shifts better than my ultega (6800) bike. I think Shimano makes the best brakes still but Sram makes a nicer drivetrain for everyday riding. DoubleTap is weird when you first start using it but it makes a lot of sense once you get used to it.This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Here is a deal I saw on RFD if anyone is interested in 27.5+ ice spikers.

I’m also running 10spd rival on an old Cervelo RS. Love that bike. Nothing wrong with 10spd, or rival. Plus the old 10spd group sets are so cheap now.
Save extra 5% before they don’t ship shimano anymore
Gonna head over to The Bike Shop as they've got up to 60% off Sugoi, going to pick up a pair of the RS Pro bib shorts as they're over 50% off and I know I like them, and just look around. Also gonna head to Bow Cycle just for a peek, not really looking for anything in particular.
Is there anything on sale out there for a youth, full suspension, mountain bike in wheel size 24 inches?

Have you guys ever ordered wheels from CRC, Wiggle, or Merlin? If so, what kinda taxes should I be expecting to be hit up with?
Most of my CRC orders (small boxes, relatively low value) just shows up at my door. No additional taxes. If taxes, it is 9.99 handling fee + GST of the declared value. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Long time ago, there were times where I was taxed (or import duty) at a pretty high rate for certain items which shouldn't be. Bike lights and wheels for example, can attract import duty. You can apply for refund afterwards by listing and breaking down the items in your order. I remember the packing list of CRC does list each item's correct category.
Yeah I've done a lot of small CRC orders and more often than not it goes through without additional fees.
I'm asking specifically about wheels cause I'm reading there's supposed to be duty on it:
https://terminalcityriders.ca/m/arti...arts-to-Canada
But at the check out there's an option to pay the duty up front and it's $200, which is more than half the price of the wheels, so I'm curious how much I'm expecting to get hit up if I choose the other option.
I believe there is duty on assembled wheels just like assembled bike. That being said, I didn't get dinged when I ordered my RS81 C35 few years back. Neither did I get dinged on the bike bag which was like 500-600 bucks. The only times I got hit was smaller orders of apparel. So it's really random.
Oh, sorry, missed the wheels part...
I ordered wheels from probikekit a few years ago (2016?). I was taxed at the wrong rate (in my favor). I was asked to pay the handling fee 9.99 and GST.
So, it is pretty random.
Blue Light Sale is coming up...might be some good deals for wheels.

Is it tacky to wear team kit?
Some good prices on Castelli jerseys and bibs, but you have to like Team Sky https://store.teamsky.com/collection...m-sky-kit-sale

I think it is, but to each their own.
I think the older the kit is, the more acceptable it is.
