    Call me a cynic, but I still think North Korea's up to something shady they've yet to reveal.

    The leaders of North and South Korea signed a declaration on Friday agreeing to work for the "complete denuclearization of the Korean peninsula."

    At their first summit in more than a decade, the two sides announced they would seek an agreement to establish "permanent" and "solid" peace on the peninsula.

    "The joint goal is to agree to have a Korean Peninsula without any nuclear arsenal," South Korean President Moon Jae-in said in a joint news conference in Panmunjom, the border truce village

    North and South Korea say they will jointly push for talks with the United States and also potentially China to officially end the 1950-53 Korean War, which stopped in an armistice and left the Koreas still technically at war.

    Considering they blew up their nuclear facilities in the last tests, they're denuclearized not by choice.

    My thought as well.

    Regardless this can only be positive, doesn’t mean anything else about North Korea will change. But I would be sleeping a bit easier if I lived in Seoul tonight.

    But then again there has been bluster about this for 60 years, the agreement means nothing until this is actually fully implemented.

    Congratulations to Donald Trump for being president at the same time that North Korea accidentally disarmed themselves.

    Hopefully once Trump is required to do more than tweet insults at Kim, he doesn’t ruin this.

    Can't wait to see what their real plan is. I highly doubt this is happening out of the goodness of their hearts. They destroyed their own nuclear site which is the only reason they are doing this IMO.

    It would be nice if the world leaders tackled the humanitarian issues before the nuclear ones, given that they don't even really have a nuclear operation anymore and there is zero actual chance NK nukes anyone (on purpose).

    I think china has a lot to do with it. NK blowing up their own test site, and the possible tariff war with china are pushing them all to play nice.

    North and South korea people have been wanting to end hostilities and re unite a long time. Amerca has been stopping it and has no interest in peace anywhere because it keeps their economy going.

    Trump was the anti establishment anti warhawk that opened the door to this by making legit business profitable again.

    He had already accomplished more than any US president in 50 years.
