Study says it's calories and not timing that matters.

I'm sure I said previously that my personal interest in IF is how it makes calorie restriction easier.

Cut out sugar, and beer.
Workout & do a small amount of cardio a day, roughly 30-45min
Don’t waste your time with intermittent fasting bullshit.
I’m 50, I’d post a pic, but I don’t want to make you jealous.
Haha.
The most important thing to do is to manage your insulin levels (through many different ways), exercise every day and get decent sleep.
Managing insulin can be done well through IF, or through avoiding carbohydrates through say Keto. You need to control insulin low enough so that your body consumes fat or your body fat. Prolonged fasts are a nice way to get this kick started and to drive down your insulin. I typically do 48 hour fasts once per quarter, and I am moving towards fasting for one 24 hour period per week. Even without IF or prolonged fasting you should try to have 2-3 large meals per day and avoid snacking between meals or after 6:30pm. Constant snacking can cause your insulin to spike up and down all day while eating after 6:30pm actually causes your body "stress" during sleep which makes it not as effective.
The only other thing that needs to be managed is stress/cortisol, and this is where the exercise and sleep comes in.
I have been up and down over my life, mainly due to injuries preventing exercise and stress/depression leading to bad habits. I realize now that I need to take more control and it has to be a lifelong thing. I have seen my mother apply the strategy above over the past decade with success. Once your body adjusts to a new way then it becomes much easier.

Lift heavy things. Do some cardio. Sugar/wheat should be tiny components of your diet not daily staples. Sleep. IF is a great tool, has literally no downside and may have positive upsides for many people. Use it to get into new habits. Use it if you like it. It nothing else it will help build discipline.
I'd post a pic but don't want to make coupe jealous.

Step one:
Be naturally attractive
Step two:
Eat and drink whatever you want, as long as you feel hunger pains for some portion of your day (and not hydration pains, drink your water)
Step three:
Do a high intensity, physically stressing activity (and no, golf does not count)
Step four:
Fuck bitches cause you’re actually interesting
