@rage2 Finally got around to ironing that patch on. I had to go through game photos to figure out the correct placement, but I was probably being too anal retentive about it. Thanks man! This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Maybe, but it's time to stop banking on Talbot who either stops 39 shots for a shutout or lets in 7 in the first period. There's no in-between with that guy anymore. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

The problem is, you have a lot more other choices for 4.5AAV for 3 years than this guy.
The oilers shit show continues! So much fun to watch when the Flames are doing so well.

Agree. But I am sure right now most of those guys doesn't want to go there. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Man, I love Chiarelli!
Forget the amount of money or the lack of NHL experience for a 31 year old goalie, he is practically running Talbot out of town before the trade deadline and thus, significantly lowering his asking price for his one genius move (back then) of acquiring Talbot. He could've waited until the off season or after the trade deadline to do this. Such poor asset management and I love it!
Anyone care to explain waivers? Thought you waive someone (Spooner and Rattie) to bury them in minors or buy them out. Why would you waive these 2, have them clear, and play in the lineup the same night against Detroit?

So they can move them down to clear cap space when they need to.This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
They were put on waivers to see if any other teams would take them off their hands for free. Since they cleared (ie: nobody wanted them), the Oilers have the option of keeping them with the club or sending them to the minors to clear cap space and open up a roster spot. Sekera is supposed to be coming off IR soon, so they need to make room to stay under the cap when he comes back. Or at least try to. Man did Chia fuck up their cap situation hahaThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Unconditional waivers are used to buy out or terminate a contract.

Now they can start the re-build again.
It isn't so much the fact that they decide to go with him. It is how much money and term they gave to a guy that has played so few games. Again the Oilers over pay someone.
