Picked up the 100” Hisense u88n today. Slightly higher brightness levels as the x95 Sony it’s replacing, and projector size screen. Literally can’t fit any bigger in the basement. Best of both worlds.
this is the move. I want one.

I guess this only works if you have a walkout basement? I can't see something like that going thru any stairs.
We’ll find out haha. It’s not much bigger than the 85 tbh. 13” wider, 7” taller. Shouldn’t be an issue moving it unboxed.

No way it’ll make it in the box. It ships on pallets lol.

I never thought you would get rid of the x95 given the many many positive things you have had to say about it over the years.

I haven't turned on my x91j in....months I think? Can't actually remember. Lol. Hilarious how much time I spent researching tvls, reading this thread etc, reading the reviews, learning about Dolby vision, learning about blooming, etc etc. Baby still doesn't sleep without alot of assistance. 4 year old is the same. By the time they do sleep I am wiped out and have no energy to think about tv. Le sigh

X95 moving to living room duties. Getting rid of an old Samsung from living room.

X95 was a great tv. It basically stayed the same for 4 or 5 generations. Everyone has caught up. This Hisense I’m getting is brighter and more accurate than the x95 and it’s a mid range Hisense. Sonys replacement is the Bravia 9 this year. 3x brighter, more zones, no blooming, first time their flagship isn’t an OLED. It’s that good. But, too rich for my blood.

Wait till next year or 2, everyone will have cheap super bright TVs.

My only issue with my Hisense has been the speed at which it brings up apps. It’s so slow, had to add Apple TV or Xbox to make it usable. Other wise you have to constantly delete the cache.
My 75” lasted 4 years but it was a low end tv.
My 65” was their higher end tv and it’s still going strong at 5 years I think. But it’s the slow one.

I find I have to restart my TV once in a while to get it running fast again. It's the 'quick start' feature so might be a cache thing?

My Vizio is a POS software-wise. Super slow, sometimes unresponsive. In contrast, Samsung Frame always seems perfect. Since I care less about true image quality and specs, I'll probably be replacing my Vizio with another frame at some point since the software and UI seems solid.

I can't imagine any scenario where I would use the TV's OS over something like an Apple TV

But it's still run everything on your TV even if you are not using the smart stuff.

I could get that in easily through the inside of my house. My stairs don't have a landing midway, I assume that's why you're thinking it would be tough?
90 degree turn and landing. It was rough enough on 75". Anything over 85, I'll probably have to go projection.

We don't use apps on the Vizio at all, just use chromecast. The TV OS crashes sometimes when we try to turn the fucking TV on

While I enjoy my U88K, once a while it will go into this reboot loop thing. A 30 seconds power cycle will fix it.

This. Buying 100” tv and using native apps is straight up poverty shit.

I would have bought the 85" U8K last year if costco carried it but went with the Sony x90l since they didn't. Looks like costco carries both the 85" and 100" now for Hisense. I feel like the warranty is worth it on Hisense.

Did anyone hit up the Samsung clearance sale that Visons held at the Glenmore Inn a couple weeks ago?
I don’t know anything about TVs but fell into the frenzy and picked up a 75” QN900C for $2500. I may have just fell for the massive savings ploy…
