I dunno, I worked at Husky for 7 years and I've never heard anything like that for normal employees up to VP's. They did have annual bonuses but more along the lines of 10-20% depending on performance. Pretty standard.
Morale wise, it's been a mixed bag. Husky sold all of the conventional stuff during 2015-2018 timeframe so there were lots of layoffs associated with the asset sales. With that said, people working in Oil Sands, Thermal, AsiaPac, and Atlantic were largely unaffected and I'd go as far as saying the morale was quite good all through the downturn.
It seems that people who complain the most about Husky either got laid off by them or have never worked there to begin with. Take it with a grain of salt.
