If Alberta was a sovereign nation today, would we want to join confederation?
If Alberta was a sovereign nation today, would we want to join confederation?
Obviously. Because we'd be broke, have a smaller population than our inbred neighbours east of us, and our citizens would love the opportunity for borderless work and travel opportunities to the rest of Canada. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
And man, would be so much easier to develop those oil sands and build pipelines
Or are you foolishly thinking we would be where we are without Canada?

Alberta's GDP is around the same as Denmark's.
So yes, we could certainly have a go at our own currency.
But that is not the point. You do not understand the point of this threat. Because you are a very naive person. You take the stupid crown from kertejud2.

Alberta separating has as much of a chance of happening as a snowball surviving in hell.
Will fuck off, again.

Well. There was this famous old saying that if you truly valued separation from a ideological standpoint, then you would be willing to form a new country with a new group of people - without demanding anything from the those to wished to stay. Which includes of course, land.
If you so strongly believe that your ideals outweigh everything, whether it be religion or economy or anything really - it must be able to stand the test of abandonment. Leave all land in Alberta, buy Greenland - and start whatever ideaology you wish there. It has been done before.
Otherwise its just selfish hypocrisy, which gains no points in my book as a reason for separation - because selfish hypocrisy is just human nature. I'd definitely support separation if those willing to break off decided to find their own island.

Food security. They have the countries largest inland fishery as well as that big sausage factory in Winkler. Plus when we single-handedly accelerate global warming we'll have beach tourism and year-round shipping through Churchill. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
