Why not just dual-sim your iphone and have both your regular and work numbers on the phone? Unless you need android for something app related

Public Mobile is owned by Telus and uses Telus network. It's not always the best deal. Depending on promotions and EPP or whatever but it's always a good deal.
I have a referral code of anyone can find it in my old posts. I'm traveling today.

Fuck just submitted the payment and didn't see the post about referral code.
Ended up doing the 39/month 4G plan. Will test it out for a few months and will need to wait for the Fold 5 to arrive first anyway.
I wanted to do a completely separate work phone as the work admin uses access to personal information on phone so hopefully eventually I will delete everything work related (emails etc.) from the main personal iPhone and have everything transferred to the Samsung.
^The $39 plan would suit me great, if you don't come yelling that it sucks in the next few weeks I'll prob move to that.

Should be easy right? Or is Rogers customer service still terrible? This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
First move they ported the phone fine. Since it’s with fido, activation charge waived. Started doing first tablet, it’s a new activation $10 add on plan to use pooled data, subject to $60 activation fee. Can’t port tablets to waive the fee. Shit gonna cost me $180. Ok, so let’s just do it online. Online doesn’t allow adding tablets, only phone plans. Fuck this shit. So I’m stuck in limbo with one phone moved and 3 tablets still on Fido. Can’t go back.
Call to complain been on phone for an hour now. Trying to get $180 waived.
TL;DR: I don’t like being ripped off, especially from Rogers.

Signed up for a smoking deal yesterday with Telus.
Ported 2 lines from Rogers, one BYOD one with an iPhone 14 pro 128gb with $360 off
$97 for can/US 150gb plan
-30 home services discount (24 months)
-10 bill credit (24 months)
-15 family credit (24 months)
=42 per month each line for 2 years. Also got them to throw in a free e-sim and no activation fees
Heard about this on RFD. I just called their number 1 (866) 558-2273, mentioned a friend got a good deal because they had home services and I wanted the same and would be willing to switch from Rogers and they offered this.

A Telus door knocker offered me 400$ in bill credits if I'd switch from Bell in Feb. This was a BYOD plan for me and my wife. Have yet to see a dime knocked off my bill.
Is this a case of: I need to stay with them for x-amount of time before credit is applied? I guess ill be calling tomorrow.

The door knocker guys are NOT Telus employees and you have basically zero recourse if they lie to you. They are mercenary resellers.

Yea those guys don’t know anything.
Last time they showed up they didn’t even know I was already a client.

The kids selling candy bars thier uncle. Bought at Costco are about as reputable.
Same with charity door knockers. Mostly mercenaries who take a cut. If it ain't girl guides, they can fuck off.

Came across those kids in Killarney while walking up to a friend's house. Got chewed out by wife because I was rude to them while saying nope, not interested. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
"Raising funds for their sick kid relative". Take a hike.
Thread on Reddit was talking about organized crime from eastern Europe and essentially human trafficking people and forcing them to stand on corners around the city with the same signs panhandling.
Like ES, the only door-to-door people getting my money are girl guides. Anyone on the street gets stuff like socks or clothes, never cash

Yet I got an email yesterday from Telus asking me to do a survey on how my interaction "with their call center" was. And the only thing it could be for was the door knocker that bothered me the previous day. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Thoughts?
$45 / mo for 100 gb of 5G with full two-way roaming to USA is a good price. Sucks that it appears to be Rogers network, although I could be convinced. the $175 upfront fee is a bit rough, I assume that's a kickback shared between the site operator and some shady rogers rep who bends the rules to give these plans out.

Great to see CAN-US plans are becoming more common now. Telus has the same plan under EPP ($55 for 100gb /w US roaming) and public mobile has $50 for 40gb /w CA/US but you can get bucks extra off via their points system.
I just buy an airalo card when do US trips now. pretty easy and still cheaper than roaming packages.

Word, I didn't know public had that $50 Can-US plan, that's better than my grandfathered $60 plan. Will read the fine print and see if I should switch. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
