Pass Powderkeg has two new flow trails, that and Buck 50 (and berma grin) and you have a perfect effort of a day, the climb trail is a great grade too
Then York creek, upper school of rock for some more mini Squamish features, squirrel shit for some fun natural track, and Stooper Trooper and whistling Post for some flow and jumps

Crowsnest better than fernie IMO. The climbing is just perfect.

This is awesome guys! Thanks. I didn't know there was a bunch of new stuff in crowsnest. What's a good area to stay in and are there good places to eat etc?
The pass beer co is great for wood fired pizzas… that’s our usual after bike place so can’t comment on much else. We typically do a day trip or random camp up off the Atlas staging area, some great views over there and super quiet compared to most PLUZs.
uh. when I say stay, I mean which hotel has the best room service. lolThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
It’s crowsnest… the question should be “which motel has the least peepholes and bed bugsThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Edit: probably best to Airbnb… this street is all new builds, 4 to choose from, and it’s “bike in, bike out” for pass Powderkeg

Early is good option too to avoid the heat if its hot. Ive been getting out around 7 and its really empty. Went really hard last Saturday on the climb up(yes its an ebike lol) and really noticed the difference coming down. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

It’s the crowsnest. None have room service. Kanata in Blairmore is updated, cinnamon bear or crowsnest angler and cafe for good bakery items and coffee in the morningThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Here is a little PSA for anyone running microspline…
Turns out they didn’t grease the hubs when they first launched… I ripped apart everything but the hub on the e-bike hoping that the nasty crunchy sound I got under load was something besides the motor, was about to try to get the motor warrantied before cracking it open and replacing the bearings till I figured I should take a deep look at the hub, and boom! Fixed!
Probably extra awful sounding because motor, but highly recommend checking this out if you have a hard to find creak:
Here is my “ultimate” fishcreek lap if anyone is interested… think this is as clear as I can make it?
The red is the climbs, also the somewhat confusing trailforks map, but helps to give some direction and where the marked trails are:
Rented one of the Santa Cruz hecklers from CC 22X. May have broken me for pedalling… punched out 40 k, 1700 m of climbing before our hands and batteries were giving out. Also very very good on the downhill. Can definitely see the desire, but also would pretty much negate ever riding with friends who don’t have one

I ride with non-ebikes, well… constantly. I just leave it in eco and granny on the climbs, or boost and get some bonus laps in, depending on the crowd
The $10k price tag will keep me out of it I’m sure
Haha ercchy that’s pretty much the same route we used to take when my friends actually wanted to go (@chester). But we would park at voiter and warm up on the easy stuff around there then head west.
I went from 0km to 50km a week recently mixed between bikes. Not much for you guys I’m sure but I have barely ridden in the last 3-4 years and have to fit it in when the kids are actually being good or asleep haha. Goal is to ride at least 60-80km on my diverge a week until the snow.
But I’m an idiot, after my wife requested I not return to the world of motorcycles, I leveraged that situation to buy an e-bike(with ercchy’s quick council on what to get). Arrives Tuesday, can’t wait. Big motivator was riding into the wind on my stumpjumper the other day on the paths after I had finished all the fun stuff
So as soon as I get it built I’ll probably ride it to fish creek instead of driving then do my ride, then ride it home so should still get my heart rate up like buster wants.
If I we tried that now I would die. @JfuckinC
Yeah you messed up by trying one and I will add to Ercchry's welcome to the darkside lol. I was the only one in our crew last year with one and rode with the non E all the time until they all got one this year You just take it easy up and every now and then go ahead and come down to catch up to them for the extra fun. I just did my longest ride on the weekend(braggin/merlin/kestral/tom/back up merlin and down it) and I wouldve done merlin again but my buddy was a bit tired. No way in hell could i ever do that without an E.This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Same for me, wife hated that I rode street bikes so I gave that up for MTB and dirtbikes which most likely wont kill me but they will fuck you up real nice. Wait til you bang out a big ride on the E, you wont regret it at all. What did you get? This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
