I should have stayed out of it. I think they signed for an atlas this morning. Although I guess the atlas is pretty good for what they want. Suburban was never in the cards.

How was the lease rate and residuals? One thing I didn’t like about VW (really all VAG brands) is their mediocre lease numbers. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Ya know, they aren't going to show me any of this. I actually regret making this thread. I don't have the info to help anyone, and I'm not going to be able to add anything to this discussion. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

2.49% and 54% residual. Not bad.

I think supply has freed up a lot...but for a long time it was hard to get an Atlas.
I'm a "smart" guy, but shit like this is one reason that I like purchasing vehicles. There's fewer variables to worry about in that transaction.

Do GM vehicles, still have the hilariously outdated instrument cluster? This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
My buddy has a newer Denali, and it’s like a time warp to a 20 year old German sedan.

No, they have one the market leading digital displays nowadays. (Not sure what trims though). This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
fairly sure only denali's get the display
it's probably a 2014 or older. 2015+ denalis have a digital display set between to analog gauges

Yukon and Suburban are being imminently updated FWIW.
The new DIC is very advanced on the Sierra and the Silverado which the Yukon and Suburban will be getting probably later this fall.
Fancy display is optional on lower trims as well not limited to Denali/High Country.

You negotiate the total purchase price of the vehicle. Then you decide lease or finance. If you lease the manufacturer sets the residual % (buyout costs). This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
So it's all preset math based on the vehicle price, interest rates, term and residual (if you lease).
that sounds smart, and it also doesn't sound like how people actually do it.This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Depends which GM vehicle - some of them still have those horrid analog gauges from the 90's that only take up half the circle. Buick comes to mind. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Vehicle cost can be known for around $30, so any dealer that won't tell you the cost isn't one you want to be dealing with. They all want to be your friend again after telling you to fuck off when you return with that information, too. Then you negotiate a fair profit for them, and the very last thing you do is tell them if you want to lease or finance (usually doesn't matter to them too much anyway). The worst thing you can do is just tell a dealer what you want your payment to be. It's all just a very simple spreadsheet at the end of the day, but you're right that I don't think many people shop that way. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Is probably how it usually goes down, as you know haha.
This works if you’ve already looked at the total cost and based your number off of it.This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I mean... end of the day the final number is on the sheet in front of you so it’s not like it’s some big secret.
If people fixate on the wrong number that’s their problem. I don’t blame the dealer for selling morons every dollar of a vehicle they ask for.
But yea. Full size SUV is the way to go lol.

I find leasing annoying. You also have to ensure that you are good at guessing how much mileage you use. The farther you are from the allotted mileage on a lease, the more annoying it is and the less of a convenience the leasing ends up being. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member.
