It's actually amazingly easy to bypass the water meter for irrigation.

I had to replace my main water valve, so the city turned off my water from the alley, I replaced it, then they turned it back on. No inspection required. I could have completely bypassed the meter if I wanted to.

They're certainly big, but I don't know if they are the BEST I've tasted.

Resodded last fall except for the bit on the right side which I’m trying to bring up to par with top dressing and seed. I used Scott’s fall fertilizer last year but haven’t applied any yet this year. Pretty happy with it.

Planning on doing some landscaping this year to make it a bit more interesting. Can anyone recommend a good landscape designer?

Not sure why this area of grass came back this spring looking like shit...By far the worst its ever been.

Will a detatch, seed/fertilize, and lots of water be enough to revive it?

Yeah, it'll take some work but recoverable. Probably from road salt.

Given the small area, it might be worth costing out the recovery materials and time vs. resodding

My front grass looked similar, started 3 weeks ago and just starting to get some seed growing back, but in hindsight I would've just resodded.

Seeing a lot of that all over town, usually on the edges of people’s lawns. This was a weird winter in Calgary, seeing a lot of dead trees too.

+1 for re-sodding. I’m finding it’s tough to get grass to germinate in this hot weather unless you can water it multiple times per day.

I have a ton of kill from all the salt I had to use this year. It will take time to fill in. Just water lots and it will dilute out.

    Same same.
EZ seed + water. Two weeks later it's filling in nicely.

Thanks all. Will try and remove the dead stuff, throw some seed on and start watering and see how it recovers. I have an irrigation system so that will make it fairly easy.

I myself don't use any salt in the winter. However, my neighbor will occasionally put some on my side of the sidewalk during icy periods so maybe its from that?
