This is considered a "normal" situation in terms of the Tesla production process. They seal with caulk and paint over. The caulk shifts/expands/shrinks...voila paint cracks. Apparently every Model Y has this.
Teslas are monumental pieces of shit.
That's premium engineering right there

From what I’ve seen, most Tesla buyers (old Asian women) wouldn’t notice their car was built from Home Depot materials.
That said, that’s a very small panel gap, definite improvement over the large panel gaps of old.
More Tesla cuts stateside as of today.
1k off the model 3, 2k off the model Y, 5k off the model S & X
Tesla price cuts for the Model 3 and Y yet again, that's the second round of cuts this month and 6th time this year. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
https://techcrunch.com/2023/04/18/te...f-q1-earnings/The company's website showed late on Tuesday that it cut prices of its Model Y "long range" and "performance" vehicles by $3,000 each and of its Model 3 "rear-wheel drive" by $2,000 to $39,990.
Hope they have a new model soon or they'll be free.

The price drop rolled over to Canada, now the Model Y falls under the federal EV rebate. Which means a model Y is now 55k for the base version.
Does that come with color matched caulk? This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Telsla's may not be great but at least they aren't Mercedes shitbox when it comes to reliability. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
It looks like they introduced a RWD model Y, but the long range AWD also qualifies. Not much else in the EV market in this price range competes with that. I still don't want to get back into a Tesla, but hopefully this price war continues until the A6 E-tron or id. Buzz are released as those ones I'm very interested in.
What was your reason for not wanting another Tesla? I was thinking of getting one for commuting, but I’d prefer to have awd as it’s mostly winter so the price is kinda keeping me from doing it. How many more price drops are coming?? And next gen model 3 should be coming soon, refresh is probably the better word. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Should be fine as long as you follow the same rules for a Tesla as for Gremlins.

Oddly the base model Canada gets does not match the US base model. They get a SR AWD and we get a SR RWD with quite a bit less range than they do. Quite odd, hopefully they offer the US built model up here or fix the LR price. Only the SR dropped yesterday. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I still can’t see ever wanting to own a Tesla but do appreciate this downward pressure on prices and hope it means other makers will stop being out to lunch with crazy markups.
The Model Y and Ioniq 5 are quite close in msrp now, overall I think the Ioniq is the better vehicle but Tesla has better battery & supercharging network which is hard to not consider

The #1 thing was that I had the RWD and it wasn't good enough in the winter even with really good winter tires. It doesn't allow for any slip of the wheels and that can get you into trouble if you are stuck. I had a couple left turns that were dicey because it kept cutting power when the wheels started to slip a bit too. The ethos of the Tesla design team doesn't line up with mine either. I came from an E46 M3, then an S4 which both are on the sports car end of the spectrum. The Tesla (RWD anyway) is not a car guy kind of car: there's no sport mode or any real pretense of sportiness. Build quality on mine was fine and it was great in the summer months as a commuter, but I'm ready to try something else. The biggest reason I sold it was because prices were so bananas last year for used ones that I was able to make a profit after having driven it for 18 months. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. German cars are great for luxury and occasionally performance. They aren't good at building the mechanical stuff though. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Until Consumer Reports weighs in on it, I reserve my judgement, as we all should. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I disagree. They're exceptional at mechanical stuff. It's purpose-built to only last while the car is under warranty. Anything beyond that is over-engineered, and erodes margins with no benefit to the business. 70s/80s/90's Mercedes are a testament to the fact that they can build something that'll last forever if they have the budget. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Thanks for that, I’ll sell my golf alltrack and get something just not sure. I will keep my rs4 for fun times. It’s tough to pick something nothing really gets me going these daysThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
