Lahaina is for people that can barely afford Maui and still have to stretch their budget just to say they’re in Maui. That said, I’m one of those people that prefer Oahu over Maui so my opinions are meaningless.

Wailea is the only place to stay on Maui IMO

Got a update from the resort we were supposed to be staying at. It's a few minutes north of Kaanapali; not in the fire zone but still affected. Everyones been evacuated minus a skeleton crew of staff. There's no power or cell coverage and they're being told it'll be a couple months to restore it. 3 of the major grocery stores in the area burned down so there's also a huge shortage of food and water at the moment as well.
