This Monkeypox shit is good for the lulz. Now they have officially determined it to be an STD. Meanwhile the gay couple whose dog was deemed the first human to animal transmission is like "Uhhhh, it's cause the dog "sleeps" in our bed...."

"Excess deaths" over the last 15 weeks nearing significant levels. Young people dropping off with heart conditions.

As mentioned, we should technically be significantly lower excess deaths around now. This might be the uh-oh moment.

Need to significant number of excess deaths in the 65+ segment. Like 15% of em would work.

So, I kept tabs very closely for the first 18 months of rhe pandemic, but I admit I've fallen behind on both the science and the public health situation.

How big of a deal is it to have a revised jab for a variant that seems to be less severe and which many of us have already been infected?

I don't think the science can keep up, tbh. Natural immunity, synthetic immunity, it's all a crap shoot. I've gone with my first 2 doses as insisted by our government, but am hesitant to make it a biannual event - especially for less severe variants.

The only thing I've kept a remote eye on is death rates, which will be what dictates any future action against it. As it sits, we're pretty low and not growing at any significant pace...

The updated shot is for ba.1 variant which is less than 1% of what is circulating in the population. So taking this "updated" shot which has 50% og strain and 50% ba.1 is 100% bs because 99% of the pop has natural immunity anyways

    99 percernt nurtural irmmurnity?
I'm worried that it's only 77%. I wish it was 99.9% but I want to know for sure. Can you tell me, fur sure?
I bet it's only 66% or some other pair of identical integers.
