Brazil overtakes UK in cases, even though starting much later. Americas getting hit hard, not entirely unexpected by infectious disease experts (Americas historically have had indigenous populations that had a horrific track record with natural human resistance to disease)

Heard some crazy ideas about how to enter and exit office buildings. One (or more?) is apparently asking people to not share elevators. So 1 person per elevator. That's going to go terribly.

My company has walked back the previous guidance that we'd all be back at our desks June 1. They are now saying "no date or procedure has been decided". I can't be full time in office until childcare is fixed, so September at the earliest. Although one or two days in the office sounds actually really relaxing. I'm sick of these fucking kids.

Yeah I don't see how the large offices can social distance. Our office has 8 elevators for our bank of floors and there was lots of times after lunch I'd have to wait for multiple elevators to pass because they were packed. No chance we make 1 or 2 people per elevator work.

That being said I'll def be using the stairs lots when we do eventually go back so kinda excited for the motivation to get

I feel so bad for Brazilians, particularly those in Sao Paulo. There's essentially denial of COVID-19 being a problem by President Bolsonaro and hospitals are teetering on war-time triage mandates.

    What floor?

My condo building has mandated 2 max per elevator so I have been taking the stairs. 22 flights daily up lol At first it was death but after a month or so it's habit and it's the only exercise I get given the circumstances.

I'm on 13th floor, but we have 8 elevators for our bank of 16 floors.

Managers and above. Lots of rules like no meetings and what not. Not sure what the point is. Oh and a mask needed if you leave your office I think.

Yea as of today “leadership” is back downtown in the offices in our shop, I think theoretically I could go in if I felt like it but I don’t see the point.

Aka the old boys were real sick of their wives and kids lol

It's the same at my work. The male executives have been going in recently, the female ones have not.

3/5 of my colleagues say the same, the other 2 just won't say it.

There’s got to be a passing of bodily gas/air into the elbow joke there.

I’m not smart enough to bring it to light.
"The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents... some day the piecing together of dissociated knowledge will open up such terrifying vistas of reality, and of our frightful position therein, that we shall either go mad from the revelation or flee from the light into the peace and safety of a new Dark Age."

I appreciate their contribution to science.

Also: why can't we do human challenge trials in Brazil?

My personal take is when will this Country stop sucking China's dick? The Government, not the people. Suck as many literal Chinese dicks as you like that's none of my business.
